*Fold in half lengthwise lining up the sling edges (as the sling came to you)
*Wear diagonally across body with seam at front hip - left or right *Fabric must be flat across full width of shoulder & across back to evenly distribute babies weight & prevent back pain *Place baby in sling with babies bum in seam section between the 2 layers formed by fold *Adjust into position with a wriggle or a bounce (bigger bubs love this!) *To remove a sleeping baby from the sling - bend over a bed or sofa until baby's weight is supported then lean forward & take off sling over your head, you can now easily lift bub out of sling & into bed *Always ensure your baby is securely inside sling & correctly positioned *It can take a few goes to get the right position, after only a few tries you will be an expert at the right position for you & your baby Newborn carry style *Baby lays curled up within sling with bum at seam and head near your chest *Ensure babies head isn’t resting on its chest (snuggling into Mums is ok) *Many babies will happily fall asleep in this position *You can breastfeed in this position using sling for privacy *Very small babies may feel as if they are sinking to low into sling - if so neatly fold a cotton wrap or cloth nappy to make a pillow under their head to bum, you wont need to do this for long - its amazing how quickly they grow! (ensure wrap is not covering babies face) Infant carry style *Once baby can sit up they will enjoy sitting with bum at seam crosslegged or with legs straddled but still inside sling as they will see more of the world facing in or out *You can put your purse in the front of sling above baby for quick trips Toddler carry style *Older babies can sit in sling straddling your hip with their legs out of sling *After putting on sling hold baby on your hip between you & sling *Pull open sling between bubs legs to let their bum slip into seam section *This position can then be pulled around to back or side back Wash in Cool Water & Warm Iron (but who has time) |
